Trip dates: September 21-30, 2026 (9 nights/10 days)
This is a small group tour of 12 guests. This tour is SOLD OUT!
Activity level: LEISURELY — On average, you’ll walk approx. 1-2 miles per day on primarily flat surfaces with some stairs. Please know there will be a boat ramp where you will have to carry your own luggage upon boarding the high-speed ferries from Athens to Naxos and from Naxos to Santorini.
Yearning for a slower pace of life? Craving spellbinding views of the ocean? Hungry for some of the freshest, healthiest foods on this planet? How about island-hopping? Then look no further than a holiday in the Mediterranean, specifically Greece and her isles, of which there are roughly 6,000.
Imagine whitewashed villages, azure waters, black and white sand beaches, natural volcanic cliffs, fascinating ancient ruins, cobblestone lanes, a labyrinth of narrow paths that keep you on your toes, charming tavernas, the most delicious natural olive oils you’ll ever taste, and the friendliest, most hospitable locals that are proud of their culture and eager to share it all with you.
Your journey will begin in Athens, the largest city in Greece, where we delve into history and get up close and personal with many of its ancient treasures. But, it’s also a modern, vibrant city that has some of the best dining in the country. There are numerous parks, green spaces, street art, and trendy neighborhoods. Its personality is pulsating with creativity, inventiveness, and the desire to stay current. Athens is like an open-air museum with so much to see and do.
Your next destination is the Cyclades Islands, of which we will visit Naxos & Santorini.
The island of Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades and truly has it all. Here, you will find a diverse array of unspoiled landscapes, local family-owned farmland, remote villages unaffected by time, green, fertile valleys, picturesque mountainous scenery, and authentic Greek culture. Because Naxos has so much fertile land, it is self-sustainable and puts out some of the best and freshest produce, meat, fish, and dairy anywhere in the world. If you love to eat, this island is a foodie paradise.
Our next visit will be the island of Santorini. It is laid back and luxurious all at once. It’s home to infinity pools that hang from the edge of multicolored cliffs and romantic meals with a refreshing cocktail or a glass of local wine on a terrace overlooking the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. It’s also where you can take a leisurely stroll along the rim of the caldera, from Fira to Firostefani and Imerovigli and be stunned by the most dazzling, fiery sunsets from Oia, as thousands are every year. It’s absolutely magical and is an image that will forever be engraved in your memory.
So, leave your worries behind, pack your bags, grab your passport, and be ready for an enthrallingly unforgettable adventure!

DAY-TO-DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Welcome to Athens!
Today, board your flight to Athens to begin your epic adventure to Greece and its idyllic islands. Upon arrival in the capital city, meet your Travel Host and local guide, and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, alongside your travel companions, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. Meal – (D)
Overnight: Hotel in Athens TBD
DAY 2 - Get to know Athens from then to now
After breakfast this morning, explore the capital city’s history and culture in a blend of the ancient and modern. Your jaunt begins with your English-speaking guide, who will be your knowledgeable companion for an unforgettable tour of Athens. Start with a private, one-way transfer to the iconic Acropolis, an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city. En route, you’ll see the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896 and pass by Hadrian’s Arch. Once you’ve arrived at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Acropolis, spend some time exploring this ancient fortress while your guide tells you tales of its historical significance and architectural marvels. Continue to the Acropolis Museum, a modern archaeological institution built to house every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, from the Greek Bronza Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. This evening, gather at an outdoor theater on a rooftop nestled at the foot of the Acropolis for an English-speaking performance on ancient Greek characters. The play, with a backdrop of marvelous views, will ensure you have an evening you will not soon forget! Meal – (B)
Overnight: Hotel in Athens TBD
DAY 3 - Island Time in Naxos
Rise early today and say, “See you later” to Athens as we embark on a high-speed ferry to Naxos, the most fertile, self-sufficient, and largest island in the Cyclades aka the ‘crown jewels’ of the Aegean Sea. Pull into the Port of Naxos in Naxos Town, where Chora is the capital of the island and the center of life. Hop aboard your private transfer to your hotel for the next 3 nights, then gather for a welcome lunch. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure settling in and soaking up the Mediterranean lifestyle. This evening, enjoy a sunset guided walk to Portara, meaning ‘large door,’ the island’s most famous landmark, an iconic 6th-century BC marble gate on the islet of Palatia in Naxos harbor. It is the only remnant of a temple dedicated to the god Apollo. The sunset views from this vantage point are magnificent! Meal – (B, L)
Overnight: Hotel in Naxos TBD
DAY 4 - A ‘Taste’ of Naxos
Today, we delve into the art of ‘drinking,’ and no visit to Naxos is complete without sampling some of the local liqueur known as kitron. Kitron is a distilled spirit made from the leaves of the citron tree, which grows on this island. Citron is a citrus fruit similar to lemon, though the fruit itself is not actually used in the drink’s distillation. The leaves are harvested during the autumn & winter months and then distilled after drying along with added sugar. Unfortunately, the citron trees are scarce and kitron itself is only sold in Naxos. We will visit a local distillery to learn the process of how this beloved spirit is made. It can be sipped straight or mixed into cocktails. However you wish to have it, it is usually served alongside a delectable array of Greek appetizers, which complement the varied flavors of the kitron. Enjoy this afternoon at leisure to rest, shop, possibly take a high-speed ferry to the island of Paros, or maybe even consider a guided horse ride along the beach! This evening, you will have the option to go to a local restaurant where the custom of plate smashing is still practiced. Plate smashing was popularized in the ‘60s, but today, only a handful of licensed restaurants are allowed to continue this Greek cultural tradition, which symbolizes joy, celebration, and abundance. “Opa!” Meal – (B)
Overnight: Hotel in Naxos TBD
DAY 5 - Farm-to-Table Naxos
You will undoubtedly have many wonderful meals throughout your visit in Greece, but you certainly cannot pass up the opportunity to learn where the food of Naxos comes from. Hearty meat, fresh fish, beautiful vegetables, fine herbs, excellent dairy, delicious olive oils, wonderful Naxian potatoes, great local wine & kitron, and some of the most mouthwatering cheeses you will ever have, many of which you probably have never heard of, all from this mighty island. This morning, we visit a local family-owned farm to learn their history, what they grow, and then partake in a cheese-making experience. This is then followed by a delectable home-cooked brunch. This afternoon, we will visit the Old Market in town where you’ll have some time to explore on your own. Imagine meandering cobblestone alleys. Whitewashed walls with blue painted doors. Narrow passageways. Cute shops selling arts & crafts, jewelry, clothing, and other souvenirs. If you’re not too full from brunch, treat yourself to a glass of vino and some light fare at one of the charming restaurants with outdoor seating tucked away in a corner. Enjoy a siesta back at the hotel. Then, come hungry tonight as we participate in a fun, immersive traditional cooking class. Meal – (B, D)
Overnight: Hotel in Naxos TBD
DAY 6 - Sail to stunning Santorini!
This morning after breakfast, we hop aboard another high-speed ferry for the island of Santorini, aka ‘the supermodel’ of the Greek Islands. She’s a head turner, for sure, and she knows it. Whitewashed buildings. Blue domed rooftops. Postcard-perfect sea views for days. It’s no wonder Santorini is on every traveler’s bucket list. Once at the port, meet your driver for a private transfer to our hotel for the next 3 nights. We will reconvene for a wonderful welcome lunch. Then this evening, we will gather for a guided walking tour of Fira, Santorini’s lively main town & capital city whose whitewashed houses, restaurants, and shops perched atop the caldera cliffs offer you the most mesmerizing views. Meal – (B, L)
Overnight: Hotel in Santorini TBD
DAY 7 - Explore the splendor of Santorini
Today’s adventure takes us to a local family-owned winery that has been around since 1947. It was the island’s first industrial winery whose architecture and aesthetics transport you back in time. Here, we will learn about the history, the unique structure, the wine production, and the most fun part: sit down for a guided tasting of the wines made on-site. There’s nothing better than sipping on vino with an ocean view. This evening, we will visit Oia, a small village with sugar-cubed houses, blue-domed churches, bell towers, windmills, and charming alley ways. But it’s become world famous for its magnificent sunsets. I promise you will snap a thousand photos of just the sunset alone. It truly is one of the most captivating sunsets you’ll ever witness. Take the time to explore this enchanting little town that’s filled with beautiful art galleries and boutique shops and have a relaxing dinner at one of the many fantastic restaurants, bars, and cafes. Meal – (B)
Overnight: Hotel in Santorini TBD
DAY 8 - A day of leisure in Santorini (optional activities will be provided if you want to explore more)
Today is a day of rest for those of you that may want/need it. Sleep in, read, go for a walk, hit the beach, shop to your heart’s content, or perhaps you fancy a cruise out on the sea? Fira, the island’s bustling capital, sprawls north into villages called Firostefani (about a 15-minute walk from Fira) and Imerovigli (the highest point of the caldera edge, about a 30-minute walk from Fira). A path connecting these villages is lined with upscale hotels, restaurant terraces, and endless photo opportunities. In case you really want to get off the tourist trail, the island’s interior is dotted with vineyards and traditional villages that are not often spoken of. Make a stop in Pyrgos for great eats and a wander through charming backstreets. There’s also the east coast of Santorini where the beaches are lined with black sand. On the south coast, there’s a string of beaches famed for their multicolored sand. The dramatic Red Beach is a traveler favorite. However you decide to spend your time, it will be time well-spent! Meal – (B)
Overnight: Hotel in Santorini TBD
DAY 9 - Fly back to Athens for your final evening in Greece
This morning after breakfast, we will make our way to Santorini International Airport and fly the short commute (50 minutes) back to Athens. We will check into our final hotel on this trip, settle in, then reconvene for a scrumptious Farewell Dinner with your travel companions this evening. Meal – (B, D)
DAY 10 - Transfer to the airport and fly home!
After breakfast, take one of two private transfers provided, back to Athens International Airport for your flight home with unforgettable memories of Greece and her crown jewels.
